The newest member of the VILLAGE ORTHOdontics team is Dr. Rebecca Doucet.
Sensitivity, honesty, and attention to detail - orthodontics requires skill and understanding. Dr. Doucet enjoys the challenges and rewards of working with so many unique patients. She works hard to provide orthodontic care in a warm, friendly atmosphere, where all of her patients, young and old, feel comfortable and welcome. Dr. Doucet is excited to welcome you and your family to our practice, and working with you as you experience all of the wonderful benefits of orthodontic care.
Born and raised in the Niagara Region, she has recently moved back to Ontario after 14 years on the west coast. An interesting fact about Dr. Doucet is that she was born on the same day her father, also an orthodontist, opened his practice in Niagara Falls. So some say it was fate that she followed in his footsteps.
Dr. Doucet has earned two bachelor of science degrees - one in Biology from Western University and the other in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University (Burnaby, British Columbia). She completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery and Orthodontic Residency at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. Based on her achievements in dental school, Dr. Doucet was inducted into both Tao Kappa Omega (the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry Honors Society) and Omicron Kappa Upsilon (the United States National Dental Honors Society).

Some of Dr. Doucet's most rewarding experiences while in her orthodontic program were her two medical missions to Bolivia with Rotaplast International. There she had the opportunity to team up with plastic surgeons, pediatricians, anesthesiologists, and other medical personnel to provide treatment for patients with cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial anomalies.
Upon graduation from orthodontics in 2005, Dr. Doucet was invited to join the practice of one of her instructors in Tiburon, California. Her experiences in California were both exciting and inspiring; however, after the birth of her daughter last year, Dr. Doucet felt it was important to be close to family. Though she was sad to say goodbye to California she is thrilled to be here and part of the VILLAGE ORTHOdontics team.
Dr. Doucet's memberships include the California Dental Association, the California Association of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation Vanguard Society, the Ontario Dental Association, the Ontario Association of Orthodontists, the Canadian Dental Association, the Canadian Association of Orthodontist, and the Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity.
When not in the office, Dr. Doucet enjoys golf, scuba diving, snowboarding, painting, playing the violin, and, most of all, spending time with her daughter, Jamie.
