Dr. Kim understands the importance of having a beautiful smile, and he looks forward to working with you to create a unique smile that reflects your personality and lifestyle. Dr. Kim graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry, in 1985. After his graduation, he served as a military dentist as a Captain with the Canadian Armed Forces Dental Services. He was stationed both at CFB Greenwood, Nova Scotia, and CFB Kingston, Ontario, from 1985 to 1989. He completed the Oral Surgery Course with the Canadian Armed Forces Dental Service at CFB Halifax. After the military, Dr. Kim practiced general dentistry for an additional five years in the Greater Toronto Area. During this time, he worked as a part-time public health dentist with the city of Toronto and as a part-time preclinical instructor for second year dental students at the University of Toronto. In 1994, he was accepted into the Graduate Orthodontic Program at the University of Western Ontario and earned a master's degree in Clinical Dentistry, M.Cl.D., (Orthodontics). Since 1998, he has been a clinical instructor (Associate Dentistry) at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto, teaching fourth-year dental students in clinical orthodontics. Dr. Kim is also an active member of various professional organizations, including the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, American Association of Orthodontists, Ontario Dental Association, Toronto Orthodontic Study Club, Alumni Associations at the University of Western Ontario, and York Regional Dental Society. Dr. Kim and his lovely wife, Sylvia, have four children, Rachel, Kathryn, William and Christine. When there is spare time, they enjoy the outdoors, music, traveling, and various sports, including golf and curling. |
