Dr. Levin (emeritus) is a graduate of the University of Toronto, obtaining his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1972. After a one year oral surgery internship at the University of Pittsburgh's Montefore Hospital, he completed a two year residency in his specialty of orthodontics.

In addition to maintaining rigorous updating with continuing education courses, Dr. Levin (emeritus) also teaches at the University of Toronto, his present rank being an Associate in Dentistry. His teaching responsibilities include the Adult Orthodontic Clinic in the Graduate Orthodontic Program of Orthodontics. He lectures to both undergraduate and graduate students and is involved in giving continuing education courses at the University of Toronto and across Ontario.

Dr. Levin (emeritus) is Past-President of the Halton-Peel Dental Association and the Ontario Association of Orthodontists. He is also a Past-Governor of the Ontario Dental Association. He is currently President of an American Association of Orthodontists affiliate, the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists (GLAO).

He is General Chairman of the 2001 American Association of Orthodontists Meeting. He was General Chairman of the Annual Convention of the GLAO held in Toronto in October of 1995. Dr. Levin (emeritus) has been elected a delegate to the House of Delegates of the American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Levin (emeritus) is on staff at both the Credit Valley and Mississauga Hospitals.

While fly-fishing, skiing and hiking have been somewhat of a passion with Dr. Levin (emeritus), he has recently been smitten by the golf bug. He shares his interests with his wife of 28 years, Geri, and with his two daughters, Alyssa and Mara.
