Meet Dr. Brian Hurd
D.D.S., Dip. Ortho.
Dr. Hurd is an orthodontist at our Village Orthodontics Oakville practice.
“Orthodontics is about creating straight, beautiful, and functional smiles, but it is also about the satisfaction that comes from helping other people. It has made me a better person by seeing the interaction of family members from so many varied backgrounds and cultures, and has given me a greater appreciation for all the people I have in my life. I love seeing each and every one of our patients feel good about their smile.”
Dr. Brian Hurd attended the University of Toronto, graduating with honours in 1973 with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
He interned for one year at the Hospital for Sick Children and then returned to study the specialty of orthodontics.
Following two years of post-graduate education at the University of Toronto, he was certified as an orthodontic specialist in 1976. Upon graduation, he moved to Burlington to set up his practice.
Dr. Hurd is dedicated to continuing his education by attending courses and seminars throughout the year. This participation enables him to stay in touch with the latest educational and professional concepts in the orthodontic profession.
Dr. Hurd is originally from Toronto and has lived, worked, and raised his family in the Burlington community since 1976.
He and his wife Nancy have six children, Michael, Allison, David, Heather, Mark, and Katie; and five beautiful grandchildren, Nathan, Grace, Kayla, Taylor, and Sam.
When he isn’t spending time with his family, Dr. Hurd enjoys playing golf and tennis, and traveling.
He also participates in committees at his local golf course and was involved in the 2012 Canadian Open Golf Tournament at Hamilton Golf and Country Club.
