The Invisalign Treatment Process in Ontario
Our Southern Ontario orthodontists offer Invisalign clear aligners. Learn more about the Invisalign treatment process, from initial consultation to achieving a straighter smile.
STEP 1: Schedule an Initial Orthodontic Consultation
Your orthodontist will evaluate the status of your dental health, including scanning your teeth, addressing any questions or concerns you may have about practical and financial aspects of your treatment journey, and designing a custom treatment plan to help you achieve a straighter smile and reach your goals for a straighter, healthier smile.
STEP 2: You'll Receive Your Customized Treatment Plan
Your orthodontist will base your customized treatment plan on the scan, or X-ray, he or she takes of your teeth. This 3D image will be used to produce a comprehensive Invisalign treatment plan designed to chart the precise movements of your teeth, and the approximate duration of your treatment, which may be as short as 6 months depending on your case.
STEP 3: Get Your Custom Invisalign Clear Aligners
Your custom-made Invisalign clear aligners will arrive at your orthodontist's office in Ontario. You'll wear your aligners every day during treatment, only removing them to eat, or to brush and floss your teeth. Your straighter smile will gradually begin to take shape as your teeth shift into their prescribed positions over the duration of your treatment.
STEP 4: Change Your Aligners as Required During Invisalign Treatment
You'll start the next stage of your treatment as directed in your individualized treatment plan. About every two weeks, you will switch to the next set of aligners in your series. You will also have brief appointments with your orthodontist every 10 to 12 weeks to check in on your progress. You'll soon start to see your straighter smile appear!
STEP 5: Enjoy & Maintain Your Straighter Smile
You're in the final phase of treatment - congratulations! It's time to enjoy your straighter, healthier smile. During your final appointment with your orthodontist at one of our Village Orthodontics offices, you'll review your progress. Your orthodontist will prescribe retainers to maintain your teeth in their current positions.
